Grand Final of the Cyber Security Challenge III 2011

The global final of Cyber Security Challenge III took place at PitchLive on the 25th of October in the Business Design Centre in London, UK. Supported by Thales UK and Digital Barriers, the competition recieved a large volume of entries from all over the world. The mix of international finalists were asked a second round of questions after being selected for the second stage. At PitchLive, the global finalists pitched their cyber solutions to a panel of expert judges and the audience on the main stage, as well as undergoing further questioning. After deliberation by the judging panel, Tony Bull, Information and Cyber Security Group Technical lead at Thales UK, announced the winner to the audience- I Think Security! |
AboutIn its third succesful year, The Cyber Security Challenge III was looking to find the best data leakage ideas, solutions and technologies. The best submissions were filtered through an online judging round and invited to pitch at our annual event in front of government representatives, investors, incubators and industry representatives. |

ProblemThe Cyber Security Challenge III was looking for ideas, solutions and technologies that could either
data leakage ( either in the form of data leakage protection or data loss prevention). For example, this could have been applied to data lost or leaked through various methods

JudgingEvery entry was judged by numerous independent judges with varying backgrounds, such as government, academia or venture capital. Each entrant recieved written feeback by the judges. Second stage finalists were required to answer a second round of more detailed questions ready for the judges to grill in their Q+A sessions. |

PrizeEach of the selected finalists was given a pitching slot at PitchLive London. Here they presented their idea to international investors, angels, incubators and representatives from governments as well as industry. The winner of the competition, I Think Security won a $10,000 prize fund and the prestigious title of 'Cyber Security Challenge III winner'. "Winning the Cyber Security Challenge is giving our early stage company tremendous credibility in the market place" said Cedric Jeannot, President of I Think Security. |
