Steering Committee

The Steering committee is made of industry specialists drawn from both the development and corporate space.

Peter Cho

Dr. C. Peter Cho currently serves as the Associate Director, Power & Energy: Electric Machinery, Advanced Materials, Power Generation, and Power Electronic Technologies at ONR’s Global Asia office located in Tokyo, Japan.  He is responsible for providing a link between US Navy Research Enterprise to overseas academia and global commercial R&D in areas related to Advanced Electric Machinery, Advanced Materials, Power Generation, and Power Electronic Technologies.  His S&T/R&D focused area is on Power & Energy and he is supporting a few ONR program officers.

Dr. Cho has over 20 years of technical commercial and government experience gained while working at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Newport, RI; General Motors/Delco Remy Division, Anderson, IN; ETechno-Group, Inc, Carmel, IN; and Wavecrest Laboratories, LLC, Herndon, VA; Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Philadelphia, PA.

Bill Anderson

The Honorable William C. (“Bill”) Anderson served as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Environment and Logistics and the Air Force Senior Energy Executive under President George W. Bush from 2005-2008.  He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Endura Energy Solutions, a portfolio company of Pegasus Capital Advisors, L.P.

Anthony Price

Anthony Price worked for a major British power company from 1988, where he developed its energy storage development programme. He established Swanbarton as a consultancy business specialising in electrical energy storage in 2003 and has since consulted for battery and energy storage developers, users of storage, utilities and government departments, in the UK and overseas.  He is a co-author of Escovale market report on Energy Storage, and has had many papers and journal articles published on the subject.   He served as a director of the Electricity Storage Association for seven years and is now the convenor for their meetings in Europe.  He is a chartered engineer and is chairman of the Energy Panel of the Institution of Civil Engineers in the United Kingdom.

Rahul Walawalkar

Dr. Rahul Walawalkar leads the Emerging Technologies & Markets practice for Customized Energy Solutions with focus on energy storage, renewables, demand response and smart grid technologies as well as international markets. He is an internationally acclaimed expert in areas covering energy management, electricity markets, emerging technologies and new product development.

Rahul has been involved in evaluating economics of emerging technologies in deregulated electricity markets since 2004. His research and consulting activities have covered complete range of demand response and energy storage technologies including compressed air energy storage (CAES), Pumped Hydro, Sodium Sulfur (NAS), flow batteries (VRB & ZBB), Lithium Ion batteries and flywheels.
