About the Role:

The Business Development Associate (BDA) is responsible for expanding our client base by selling new competitions to new clients. This includes research of applicable areas for a competition, starting the dialogue with potential stakeholders and sponsors and the initial design of a competition. The BDA is not responsible for the execution of a competition, but is able to familiarise him/herself quickly with an unknown subject, company or technology. In collaboration with the operations department, the BDA will outline custom-fit proposals and stay involved as a client representative throughout the process. Candidates with a security background are preferred.

Specifically, duties include the following:

  • Develop pricing models and sponsorship packages for new competitions
  • Identify and communicate with potential clients
  • Familiarise with unknown subjects, companies or technologies
  • Formulate (in collaboration with co-workers from the operations department) a new proposal or concept paper which forms the base for contracts with the client.
  • Sell new competitions to potential clients
  • Be the face of OmniCompete in Washington, DC (if this location is selected)

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial person
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills

Candidates are required to have at a minimum:

  • Undergraduate degree  (+ graduate degree preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business development and/or sales role
  • Experience selling to government, good knowledge of US government departments and agencies

 

This position is available on a part time or full time basis. If the BDA is based in London, UK, he/she will be required to travel a minimum of 25% of the time.

We offer a competitive package, including base salary plus commission.
